Collision Course with God
Lessons from Raising a Troubled Teen
ABOUT ME
I was inspired by God to write this book a year after my son's execution. God made it plain to me that my story and experiences raising a sociopath would be a benefit and encouragement to other parents who might be having problems with their adolescent child. The words began to flow as I worked on the computer, feeling at times that God was truly inspiring me as I typed. After putting my story together, I began researching child psychology books to see what the secular experts were saying and was surprised that most of the ideas agreed with Biblical teachings. In addition to books, I completed the Tennessee Foster Parent Training Course in an effort to be well-rounded in my knowledge.
The eldest of four children, I grew up in Memphis, Tennessee in the ’50s, when Elvis Presley was getting his start. I had the church and later the Boy Scouts as a positive influence in my life. I attended college at the University of Tennessee and upon graduation in 1971, took a job with the Boy Scouts of America as a scout executive working in the third poorest county in the nation. My son Aaron was born there on July 28, 1972, in La Follette, Tennessee.
I currently live in Fort Worth, Texas where I am retired and happily married to a policewoman.
